Let’s assume we want to stay in F minor key. First we need to set the default notes of a minor scale, these are all the white keys starting from A: A,B,C,D,E,F,G and again A.

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”11611″ img_size=”full” css=”.vc_custom_1530667437977{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}”][vc_column_text]Now we can transpose them up eight semitones to be on F minor.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”11614″ img_size=”full” css=”.vc_custom_1530667464701{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”11613″ img_size=”full” css=”.vc_custom_1530667519292{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}”][vc_column_text]And here is the trick: If we move them back once they are actually out of the MIDI clip, they don’t get played when you play the MIDI clip. But, when you press FOLD these notes are going to stick, and the ones that don’t belong to the scale are going to be discarded.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”11612″ img_size=”full” css=”.vc_custom_1530667568517{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”11610″ img_size=”full” css=”.vc_custom_1530667590597{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}”][vc_column_text]In this way we are loosing the chance to play off the scale notes, which usually are used to create tension in harmony. So this trick is mainly for those who don’t have a musical education, but want their productions to stay in key.

To stay in key is not a must, but for beginners we encourage it. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

We can all agree that MUSIC and how it sounds & makes us feel is the most important thing that we do as Producers/Composers/Beatmakers, etc. Now, when you think of the phrase “Music Production”, you can’t really help but think about the second word “PRODUCTION”, which is derived from the latin word “producere” (which means to bring forth). With regards to “Music Production”, we are really referring to the overall sound of a musical recording but we are also referring to how it is actually created and formulated.

[341,342
347,352,350,351,349
post-11609","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-ableton","category-tutorials","tag-ableton-live-10","tag-ableton-live-stay-in-key","tag-ableton-stay-in-key","tag-ableton-tutorials","tag-stay-in-key
["GET
