You can always capture what you’ve just played, after you’ve played it. It will keep capturing as long as you keep playing but will clear out that capture if you stop playing for about 30 seconds and then play anything new.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”11686″ img_size=”full” css=”.vc_custom_1531237910225{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}”][vc_column_text]Live is always listening to MIDI input on armed or input-monitored tracks, and Capture lets you retrieve the material you’ve just played on those tracks. This is particularly useful if you forgot to press the Record button before playing, or if you prefer to improvise or experiment freely without the stress of recording. Live will automatically try to find the tempo and set appropriate loop boundaries.

To capture the MIDI notes you just played, press the Capture button. On Push or Push 2, you can trigger Capture by holding the Record button and pressing the New button.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”11689″ img_size=”full” css=”.vc_custom_1531237939897{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”11687″ img_size=”full” css=”.vc_custom_1531237956235{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}”][vc_column_text]The time it can capture for, is actually measured in MIDI events. About 16K of MIDI events which equals thousands of bars.

Capture behaves differently depending on the state of the Live Set.

Starting a new live set:

If the Live Set contains no other clips and the transport is stopped:

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”11690″ img_size=”full” css=”.vc_custom_1531238012062{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”11691″ img_size=”full” css=”.vc_custom_1531238031874{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 24px !important;}”][vc_column_text]Adding material to an existing live set:

If Live’s transport is running, there are already other clips in the Live Set, or the tempo is slaved or automated:

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

We can all agree that MUSIC and how it sounds & makes us feel is the most important thing that we do as Producers/Composers/Beatmakers, etc. Now, when you think of the phrase “Music Production”, you can’t really help but think about the second word “PRODUCTION”, which is derived from the latin word “producere” (which means to bring forth).
